Stacey Chavarria, Admin Assistant/Registrar

Stacey is our admin assistant/registrar and will be covering the front desk in the mornings.  Stacey is currently the principal’s secretary at Village High School in District 20.  Stacey has also worked at Colorado College in the records department and at the Broadmoor in Human Resources along with teaching fitness classes at many area local gyms.  “I am excited to get to know a new group of students and support them on their journey.  I am also thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside an innovative group of educators to grow and develop this new program.”

Nathan Gorsch, Executive Director

Nathan has spent the last couple of decades in education in Colorado Springs. He has been a teacher, coach, middle school assistant principal, high school assistant principal, and high school principal before becoming Executive Director for CSST. Most recently, Nathan started Village High School and grew the school from 25 students to over 530 students with a substantial waitlist. His work, particularly around school culture and student agency, has been highlighted by Educational Leadership Magazine, the Clayton Christensen Institute at Harvard, and research from Stanford University, Ohio University and University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is a nationally recognized leader, speaker and consultant and has worked with schools and districts all over the country and Canada. Nathan shared, “I am excited about the vision for CSST and the opportunity to provide responsive and innovative programming to students with a focus on higher education and industry connections.”

Darren Kelley, Math Teacher

Darren is our math teacher.  Darren is currently teaching at Cheyenne Mountain High School, but has also worked at North Middle School in D11.  Prior to becoming an educator, Darren was an electrical engineer in industry for over a decade.  “I am thrilled to begin working at Colorado Springs School of Technology, where we will prepare students to thrive and lead in a world increasingly driven by science and technology. Education must evolve beyond traditional methods, and I believe this school is committed to innovative, project-based learning that engages students in meaningful, experiential ways. By connecting students to real-world applications, we empower them to grasp complex concepts and leverage that knowledge to generate creative solutions when presented with real-world challenges. Reflecting on my own education, I often wished for a deeper connection between curriculum and practical application. I am excited to be part of a team that is passionate about fostering that connection as we prepare the next generation for the future.”

Milithza McNeil, Counselor

Milithza has been a middle school and elementary counselor and a Family and Consumer Science teacher in District 11 and District 49 prior to joining the team at CSST.  She is fluent in Spanish, has her principal license and recently completed COMPTIA certification. Milithza shared “I am thrilled to join the Colorado Springs School of Technology as the new school counselor! Being part of a pioneering institution that collaborates with esteemed organizations like the US Air Force Academy and the National Cybersecurity Center is an incredible opportunity. In addition, I'm honored to work with students that are driven and goal oriented; to build positive relationships and help them in all ways to prepare them for future success. I look forward to cultivating a culture of growth, exploration, and achievement, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the ever-evolving landscape of technology." 

Andrea Mullins, Admin Assistant/Bookkeeper

Andrea is our admin assistant/bookkeeper and will be covering the front desk in the afternoons.  Andrea is currently the health technician at Doherty High School.  Prior to working at Doherty, Andrea was an administrative assistant at a healthcare company/assisted living center and at Kohl’s.  “I can’t wait to help build a community at CSST. It’s an honor to be a part of such a dedicated and enthusiastic team. I look forward to creating an inspiring learning environment for these students.”

Dan Olson, Dean of Students

Dan was most recently the principal of Air Academy High School and we are fortunate to have him join our team as our dean of students.  Dan has had a long career in education as a middle school and high school teacher, head football coach, dean of students, assistant principal and principal in Idaho, Montana, and Colorado.  Dan has received numerous accolades including Coach of the Year multiple times and Academy School District 20 Administrator of the Year in 2021. Dan shared, “I am so excited to join CSST and to work with Nathan again. The opportunity to build a school from scratch and reinvent education to meet the needs of students and the community is something I have dreamed about for years.  I can’t wait to get started!”

Matt Stewart, Social Studies and Leadership Pathway

Matt is coming to us from Village High School (where he was named district teacher of the year in 2024) and also has experience at Eagleview Middle School and Creekside Middle School.  He is involved in the community including serving as on the Mayors Civic Leadership Fellowship, the City Council District Process Advisory committee, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum Program Committee and has also testified in front of the Colorado House and Senate Judiciary subcommittees.  As he joins our team, Matt shared: “Stepping into something new takes courage, and I couldn’t be more excited to take that journey alongside our very first students at the Colorado Springs School of Technology. Together, we’re building a program that connects learning to the real world—where students don’t just study industries, but step into them. By partnering with professionals, we’re creating opportunities for students to see their future in action. It’s an honor to be part of a team that’s reimagining what education can be, and I can’t wait to get started!”

Caleb Ulliman, Science and Aerospace Pathway

Caleb is coming to us from Village High School and also has experience teaching internationally in Nepal and Mexico.  He has also been an outdoor educator, backpacking guide and research assistant in a biophysics laboratory. Caleb shared: "The sky's the limit at CSST, and I am excited to see where all of our creativity and imagination takes us. I cannot wait for the opportunity to connect with students and professionals in the Pikes Peak region to facilitate meaningful learning experiences. CSST combines two of my passions in education: being a member of a nurturing community that has high expectations, and doing cool science!"

Hannah Wirtjes, Academic Support

Hannah is coming to us from Galileo Middle School where she has been a counselor for the last three years. Hannah shared, “I am excited to join the team at CSST as an Academic Support Specialist and incorporate my experience as a D11 school counselor. My experience has allowed me to develop strong, meaningful connections with students, helping them navigate both academic and personal challenges. As a former college softball player at Adams State, I understand the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and time management, which I aim to instill in the students I support. I am passionate about creating a positive, supportive environment for students to thrive academically and personally. Joining CSST’s innovative team is an exciting opportunity for me to help build a foundation for success, guiding students through their high school journey and helping them unlock their full potential.”

Aly Johnson, Business and Entrepreneurship Pathway

Aly joins us from Air Academy High School, where she successfully led the Business Department for seven years. She brings a wealth of industry experience into the classroom and is passionate about delivering relevant, diverse, and engaging work-based learning opportunities for students. Aly holds a B.S. in Business with an emphasis in Human Resources and an MBA. In addition to her teaching role, she serves as the Business Teacher Mentor for the state of Colorado and is the owner of MJ Enterprises Ltd. Her dedication to education and innovation was recognized in 2023 when she was named Colorado Marketing Teacher of the Year. Reflecting on her new role, Aly shared, “Joining the CSST team has truly been a dream. Working alongside innovative educators and passionate students is the ultimate goal for any educator. CSST has the right people in the right place at the right time. I’m so excited for the future and the incredible opportunities this environment will create. I wish the first day of school was tomorrow!”
